About Us
Kali’s Eye is a custom stained and leaded glass studio located in Austin, Texas.
With over 20 years of experience, proprietor and artisan Lisa Chronister began as a student of regional stained glass artists Ted & Jan Weiser at CSG Studios. Lisa’s work has been exhibited in the 2015 East Austin Studio Tour and as a guest artist in the 2017 West Austin Studio Tour and occasionally local art fairs such as the Westbank Library's Laura's Market. We specialize in creating custom window, door and cabinet panels – as well as other unique forms of stained glass art. We are a small establishment, focusing on the individual custom client rather than mass production.
We do not have a retail site and do not carry a stock of pre-made stained glass window or door panels. Because most people desire these items to exactly fit a specific opening or area they cannot be prefabricated. We do have a selection of whimsical art pieces and a small line of three dimensional decorative items. These include free standing statues, wall art, candle holders, picture frames, rose bouquets, garden or pond decorations and boudoir mirrors. See the Gallery for examples of current and previous work. Please contact us for pricing and availability. Not all items are in stock. Most can be replicated in a wide variety of sizes and colors to suit your needs.
We can do repairs and restorations on existing stained glass panels or objects. We do not give estimates over the phone, as it is essential to carefully examine older pieces before working on them. Keep in mind that the value of some antiques can be ruined by any repair, even the best one. (Antiques Road Show is not lying.) Furthermore, the cost of repairs is high in comparison to new work. Even small repairs may require complete disassembly and reconstruction, essentially doubling the amount of work compared to a new piece. Depending on various factors, it is not uncommon for it to cost more to repair that small lamp imported from China than than you originally paid for it.
